We have finally found a spare hour or two to post our France photos. We got a little carried away but those who have been there will appreciate it I'm sure. These are only a few of our photos, there were plenty more we could have put in but we didn't want to bore you too much.

Friday 8 April 2005
Well, we have been very busy in the past week!
Our trip to France was really amazing. We arrived in Paris on Tuesday afternoon and with a bit of excess walking managed to find our hotel (after about half an hour). Whilst in Paris we did all of the touristy things. We visited the Louvre Museum on Wednesday and it is absolutely huge!!! We saw the Mona Lisa, thousands of other paintings, egyptian mummies and a lot of Roman and Greek statues from BC. We managed to get around most of it in one day.
Next day, felt like a change of scenery so tripped off to Disneyland for the day. It made us feel like big kids again but it was so much fun (only a couple scary rides).
Friday was a beautiful day and we started by zooming up to the top of the eiffle tower - very long way up. The views were great and it put Paris into perspective for us. We then went down the road to the Arc (which is a roundabout where 11 avenues meet) and this was very interesting to watch as it was 6 lanes wide and massive amounts of traffic! Then onto Notre Dame which was OK, but nothing amazing (just another cathedral).
Sancerre was our next visit (2 hours south of Paris) where we managed to fit in a day of fantastic golf at the local club (everyone was extremely friendly and hospitable), Mike even managed to pick up a prize with his not so stunning 32 points (a nice polo and a golf glove). Also visited one of the local wineries and did a little tour with a guy who didn't really speak much english, but he did really well.
All in all it was a fantastic trip and I don't think we did too bad with our French (all 10 words that we knew). We didn't order any food that was unedible and we managed to get around on the Metro and trains without to much ado.
Will put some photos of our trip on at a later date.
